We Support Independent Concussion Research
Experience has taught us that supporting research that’s free of commercial and/or conflicts of interest is the best way forward
General Understanding
Each individual is different and each concussion is different; it’s a complex problem that requires deeper understanding. That’s why Sports Health Check contributes funding, on a case-by-case, to studies across concussion related issues.
Concussion Testing
Sideline concussion testing and clinical scans can vary greatly in terms of their quality of feedback. To help improve processes we provide funding for research. We also support independent testing facilities, providing funding for technical equipment.
Return to Sport Protocols
Not just return-to-play, but also work and school. Sports Health Check helps provide funding for research studies that seek a better understanding of how well concussions are being managed now, and how they can be better managed in the future.
Rehabilitation Programs
Sports Health Check arranges the access to assessment methodologies that independently measure the impact of rehabilitation programs in order to drive continuous improvement. A good example of which is the Long Live Your Brain program.
Support We’re Providing
Independent Research
Via generous donations made by the general public, and in particular former AFL footballer Shaun Smith, Sports Health Check has been able to donate equipment to Dr. Alan Pearce, a leading researcher in the concussion sector.
Help Make Sport Safer
You will be helping to protect sport’s important place in the community, as well as the quality of life of past, current, and future participants.
